Chemical Peels for Facial Rejuvenation

What is a chemical peel in the Dallas area?

A chemical peel, available to Dallas-area patients seeking improved skin texture, works by removing the outermost layers of skin, which can become damaged by environmental factors and more, including sun exposure, acne, and natural aging. The procedure involves a chemical solution that can smooth and refine skin in a variety of places, including the neck, décolletage and hands, though chemical peels are used mostly on the face. Uneven skin tone, wrinkles, spots and scars can all be addressed by a non-invasive chemical peel.

A chemical peel can help improve:

    • Acne or acne scars
    • Age and liver spots
    • Fine lines and wrinkles
    • Freckles
    • Irregular skin pigmentation
    • Rough skin and scaly patches
    • Scars
    • Sun-damaged skin

What types of chemical peels do you offer?

SkinMedica® Illuminize Chemical Peel—This customized peel removes only the uppermost layer of dead skin cells in order to create glow for that special event. This light peel only scales on a microscopic level, and thus will not result in excessive peeling. This peel is perfect before weddings or parties.

SkinMedica® Vitalize Chemical Peel —This customized chemical solution removes the very outer layer of epidermis, eliminates radicals, accelerates production of new cells and clarifies the complexion. This peel can be used to correct the appearance of fine surface wrinkles, superficial blemishes, dryness, uneven skin tones, pigment problems and acne. It is best used in a series of four to six treatments in order to achieve desired results.

SkinMedica® Rejuvenize Chemical Peel —This more aggressive peel is well-tolerated and does require recovery times due to its stronger nature. You will see results after just one peel, and significant results after three. It improves acne, acne scarringmelasma and hyperpigmentation. It helps to smooth fine lines, wrinkles and rough texture.

Salicylic Acid Chemical Peel —Salicylic acid is a milder peel, which can be used to treat acne, cleanse pores and treat mild skin discoloration. Many patients do not see visible evidence of the exfoliation and peeling process as it occurs on a microscopic level, but all patients are different, and results can vary depending on the condition treated.
