What Is Restylane® Eyelight?

Restylane® Eyelight is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler from Galderma, offered at the Dermatology Office of Dr. Ellen Turner in Dallas and Irving. It is the first and only hyaluronic acid filler FDA-approved specifically to improve infraorbital hollowing, the shadowed, sunken area beneath the eyes commonly known as the tear troughs. Hyaluronic acid is a substance your skin makes naturally to stay hydrated and full, and as those levels decline with age the under-eye area can begin to look hollow, shadowed, and tired.

Restylane® Eyelight replaces that lost volume to smooth the under-eye hollow and soften shadows, refreshing the eye area without surgery. What sets it apart is NASHA® Technology, a firm, supportive gel engineered for precise, targeted placement so the filler stays exactly where it is positioned in this delicate area. This is a different gel technology from the XpresHAn Technology™ used in Restylane Lyft, Contour, and Defyne.

Because the under-eye is one of the most delicate and technique-sensitive areas of the face, our providers use Restylane® Eyelight to restore a rested, brighter appearance with results that look natural rather than overfilled.

Restylane® Eyelight is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler indicated for the improvement of infraorbital hollowing. It is indicated for patients over the age of 21. In its pivotal clinical study, 87 percent of patients showed at least one grade of improvement in under-eye hollowness at 3 months.

Our team performs every Restylane® Eyelight treatment as a straightforward in-office procedure at our Dallas and Irving locations. Most appointments are completed in under one hour, and results are visible almost immediately.

Step 2: Preparation

✓The under-eye area is thoroughly cleansed

✓A topical numbing cream may be applied for your comfort (Restylane® Eyelight does not contain lidocaine, so a topical numbing cream is used)

✓Injection points are mapped precisely based on your facial anatomy and goals

Step 3: Injection

✓The filler is carefully placed into the under-eye hollow using a fine needle or a blunt-tip cannula

✓The full appointment is typically completed in under one hour

Step 4: Aftercare

✓Use cold compresses to reduce any temporary swelling

✓Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen (NSAIDs), St. John’s Wort, blood thinners, and high-dose Vitamin E for one week, as these can increase bruising

✓Minimize strenuous exercise and avoid excessive heat, sun, or UV lamps for the first 24 hours

✓Do not press or massage the treated area unless instructed by your provider

✓Follow all aftercare instructions and schedule any recommended follow-up

The most common side effects are temporary reactions at the injection site, such as swelling, redness, bruising, pain, headache, tenderness, itching, and lump formation. These are usually mild and resolve on their own. Our team will review all risks with you before any treatment begins.

Is there any downtime?

Who is a good candidate?

Most healthy adults over 21 who are bothered by under-eye hollows, shadows, or a tired appearance are good candidates. It is not recommended for people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have bleeding disorders, have an active infection at the treatment site, or have a history of severe allergies.
