EMFACE

Sculpt Muscle and Re-Shape the Face with an Innovative Non-Invasive Treatment in the Dallas Area

BTL Aesthetics’ new device, EMFACE, is a revolutionary non-invasive treatment that sculpts the face the same way Emsculpt Neo® sculpts the body: using non-invasive contouring technology to simultaneously target muscle and fat in a single procedure. The Dermatology Office is the first practice in Dallas to offer the highly effective EMFACE, and Dallas’ Dr. Ellen Turner is a BTL EMFACE Luminary responsible for educating healthcare providers around the country on the device and its benefits.

EMFACE is ideal for lifting the brow, reducing forehead lines, sculpting and improving jawline contours, and tightening neck laxity—all without incisions, injections, or sutures. Clinical studies have shown an average 30 percent improvement in muscle tone, 23 percent improvement in lift, and 37 percent fewer wrinkles after treatment.

Aging can cause our face shape to change, as the bone, muscle, and fat lose density while the skin becomes thinner and weaker because of collagen loss. In addition to the skin becoming less supple, there are changes to the SMAS layer (superficial musculoaponeurotic system)—the layer of tissue that connects the face and neck muscles to the skin and contains muscles, fibers, collagen, and fat—as it loses elasticity. Sagging skin around the jawline and deep nasolabial creases may form.

EMFACE addresses all of this.

How Does EMFACE Work?

EMFACE is a next-generation facial rejuvenation device that provides two types of therapies in a single procedure. It utilizes synchronized high intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) muscle-building technology combined with radiofrequency (RF) energy to improve the appearance of the face.

EMFACEThe patented, breakthrough EMFACE device offers the benefit of combined, simultaneous fat reduction and muscle building by triggering what are known as “supramaximal contractions.” This is rapid muscle activity stimulated by the electromagnetic energy, comparable to numerous high-intensity workouts—but in the muscles on your lower face. The incredible concentration of contractions damages muscle fibers so that natural repair processes rebuild the tissue to be stronger. These contractions can also prompt the body to metabolize nearby fat for energy.

The radiofrequency energy also damages fat cells, as well as heats the tissue, encouraging renewed collagen production for improved structure and other benefits. The damaged fat cells are gradually flushed out of the body.

No needles, surgery, or anesthesia are involved, making EMFACE an ideal and incredibly effective alternative to injectable facial fillers, neurotoxins, and other minimally invasive treatments. The procedure is customizable, so patients can choose to have HIFEM and RF technologies at the same time or choose one or the other.

How Does Aging Impact the Face?

Many changes occur to your face as you get older—and most happen without you knowing. Some of these changes are obvious and familiar. Fat may no longer be evenly distributed and may shift downward, so that certain features like the cheeks lose volume while the lower part of the face may gain unwanted volume. Skin folds begin to deepen as the skin loses some of the elements that once kept it supple and thick. The bones and muscles in the face become thinner and decrease in size. This can often lead to a receding jawline. The jaw area is important for providing balance to the face, and a strong jawline is associated with strength and confidence.

For patients interested in a muscle-toning or fat-reduction procedure—or both—EMFACE is an ideal solution. EMFACE provides a more advanced, effective way for improving the shape and definition of the lower face by lifting the submental area and tightening the skin.

Am I A Good Candidate for EMFACE?

EMFACE is safe for any body type, BMI, skin type, and skin tone. There is no right age to start treatments with EMFACE, but patients who are healthy, well-hydrated, and at a stable weight tend to enjoy the best results.

Since the treatment uses radiofrequency energy, patients who have pacemakers or metal implants should not use EMFACE. Dr. Turner can discuss facial rejuvenation options with you during your consultation to help you decide which strategy will be right for you.

The EMFACE Procedure

EMFACE is a quick, simple, and pain-free treatment that can be completed in just 20 minutes. Patients will be asked to lie down, and a conductive pad is applied directly to the skin, allowing the EMFACE gelpads to be applied to the forehead and cheeks.

When the device is on, it emits energy that causes muscle contractions, heats tissues beneath the surface, or both. The sensation is often described as being warm and similar to a relaxing hot stone massage—but patients should be aware that they will also experience some intense mechanical vibrations. The device has an automatic-shutoff feature so that the temperature never gets too high or uncomfortable. A treatment provider will remain in the room with you as you receive your treatment.

What Results Can EMFACE Provide?

A single EMFACE session will “kick things off,” but most patients will enjoy the best results after a series of treatments. Maximum contouring benefits may take up to four sessions, with the ideal contouring visible within three months after the final treatment.

Patients are sometimes worried about looking overdone or “frozen” after getting other facial rejuvenation procedures that add volume or relax muscles. A popular advantage of EMFACE is its subtle and natural-looking results.

EMFACE BEFORE AND AFTER

Nine clinical studies have been performed for EMFACE, revealing the results possible after a series of treatments:

  • 23 percent more lift on average
  • 30 percent more muscle tone on average
  • 37 percent fewer wrinkles on average

Some common side effects of the EMFACE treatment are a warm sensation and pinkness in the skin, but these effects will resolve on their own. There’s no need for any recovery time, and patients can return to their activities of choice right away.

What Other Facial Rejuvenation and Contouring Options Are Available in Dallas?

Along with EMFACE™, there are several other options available to reduce signs of aging on the face and shape younger, better-defined contours. Ultherapy® uses ultrasound energy to tone and lift sagging skin on the face to correct mild to moderate skin laxity. Silhouette InstaLift is a thread lift technique that can be used on the face and body to provide a lift right away, while also stimulating collagen creation for longer-lasting results. Injectable dermal fillers help to refine the contours and define the face by adding lift and volume to certain areas. Skin rejuvenation treatments such as traditional and RF microneedling encourage collagen growth for tighter, more even skin.

Are you searching for treatments for fat and lax skin or cellulite? It can be challenging to reduce stubborn fat on localized areas that are resistant to diet and exercise. Reducing cellulite can also be very difficult. Dr. Ellen Turner’s Dallas-based dermatology office offers other energy-based treatments that are complementary to EMFACE, including Emsculpt Neo®, Emtone, and CoolSculpting®. Emsculpt Neo® builds muscle mass, reduces fat, and firms skin to give the body a more toned appearance. It treats the abdomen, arms, buttocks, thighs, and calves.

Emtone targets the underlying causes of cellulite, for a smoother, more sculpted appearance. CoolSculpting® uses low temperatures to cause fat cells on isolated areas of the body to freeze. These damaged fat cells are eventually metabolized and removed from the body, leaving you with a slimmer, more toned look.

Arrange a consultation so you can get started on EMFACE and other powerful treatments to sculpt, tone, and shape your appearance—all without surgery or pain!
