Fat and Lax Skin Treatments for Body Contouring

Get a Slimmer Look Without Surgery in the Dallas Area
Cosmetic dermatology is about more than the look of the surface of the skin. While addressing wrinkles and spots is a big part of what Dr. Ellen Turner does, she also offers fat and lax skin treatments for Dallas-area women and men who want to achieve slimmer and sleeker contours.
Options for body contouring include treatments designed to reduce volume in areas that have a significant number of large fat cells, as well as options to tighten lax skin. Beyond body contouring, there are also treatments to improve skin tone, fade signs of cellulite, and more.
CoolSculpting®
As a body contouring strategy, CoolSculpting® uses specially designed panels to drop the temperature in targeted areas of the body. This cold shift specifically impacts fat cells, which are structurally damaged by the chill—even as the skin, muscle, and other tissues in the treatment area remain healthy. Once damaged, the fat cells are removed from the body by natural processes. The session itself should last around an hour, with the results gradually appearing in the following months. Typically, multiple sessions must be completed for a patient to reach his or her ideal body contouring goals. It can be used on the belly, back, sides, upper arms, thighs, hips, and buttocks, as well as to reduce a double chin.
Ultherapy®
Fat is not the only reason a person may be seeking body contouring options. Loose skin, which can develop after weight loss or due to age-related destruction of important proteins, is another problem. Ultherapy® uses the energy of ultrasound waves to firm away this laxity by stimulating collagen production and tightening deep tissues. A single session typically lasts an hour to an hour and a half, with skin tone improving for two to six months after a treatment. Results are long lasting, though the skin will continue to age as normal following the improvement to the face, chin, next, or chest.
SkinPen®
Since collagen and elastin are important for a firm, tight, youthful look, encouraging their growth in aging skin can have a visibly transformative effect. SkinPen® uses multiple tiny needles to encourage healing processes in the skin, which can not only rejuvenate the face, but can also reduce the appearance of stretch marks and certain scars. While the effects are on a smaller scale than body contouring, they can make a significant difference.
Lipoma Mesotherapy
Small lumps known as lipomas may not be worrisome tumors, but they can be annoying—especially from a cosmetic perspective. Dr. Turner injects a special "fat-dissolving" solution into these fatty tumors for each lipoma mesotherapy treatment. As the fat cells break down, the lumps smooth out for a sleeker look. Many body contouring patients also deal with cellulite, which this treatment can address.
Silhouette InstaLift™
Sagging skin can dramatically change facial contours. Lifting that skin into a more youthful position can restore a more youthful look. Surgery is not necessary, however, with Silhouette InstaLift™ injectable threads. Each thread is equipped with cones that hold the skin in place. Over time, new collagen forms around the threads, serving to hold the facial tissue in place on its own.
Kybella®
Kybella® is a fat-reduction treatment that uses a modified form of dietary acid to reduce the volume that makes up a double chin. The injectable can be administered in just minutes, with slimming results appearing in the following months. Multiple treatments are typically required for the full jawline-defining effect to manifest.
