What Is Restylane® Defyne?

Restylane® Defyne is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler from Galderma, offered at the Dermatology Office of Dr. Ellen Turner in Dallas and Irving. Hyaluronic acid is a substance your skin makes naturally to keep it hydrated, full, and elastic, and those levels decline with age, which is when deeper lines form and the chin can lose definition.

Restylane® Defyne is built for the lower face. It softens deep laugh lines and smooths the folds that run from the nose to the mouth, and it can also augment the chin to improve the profile in patients with mild-to-moderate chin retrusion, all without surgery. What sets it apart is XpresHAn Technology™, a flexible gel that integrates into the skin and moves naturally with your expressions, so your face still looks and feels like you when you smile, laugh, or talk.

Restylane® Defyne is the first and only chin filler shown to deliver results across a wide range of patients, including all skin types, male patients, and patients over the age of 52. Step 2: Preparation

✓A topical numbing cream may be applied for added comfort (Restylane® Defyne also contains lidocaine)

Step 3: Injection

✓The filler is carefully placed into the deeper folds or chin using a fine needle or a blunt-tip cannula

✓The full appointment is typically completed in under one hour

Step 4: Aftercare

✓Use cold compresses to reduce any temporary swelling

✓Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen (NSAIDs), St. John’s Wort, blood thinners, and high-dose Vitamin E for one week, as these can increase bruising

✓Minimize strenuous exercise and avoid excessive heat, sun, or UV lamps for the first 24 hours

✓Do not press or massage the treated area unless instructed by your provider

✓Follow all aftercare instructions and schedule any recommended follow-up
