Laser Micropeel and Park Cities Peel
Laser Procedures in the Dallas Area
There are a number of ways to help address your skin care concerns, ranging from effective topical regimens to chemical peels and intense pulsed light (IPL). One of the most effective, non-invasive methods of rejuvenating the skin is by laser resurfacing and other procedures, including laser peels. Lasers have been used for more than 25 years for the treatment of skin conditions such as fine lines and wrinkles, acne, skin lesions, uneven pigmentation (such as melasma) and scars.
Laser skin resurfacing works by removing the outer layer of skin, called the epidermis. The laser simultaneously heats the underlying skin, called the dermis. This action works to stimulate growth of new collagen fibers. As the treated area heals, new skin forms that is smoother, firmer and more youthful. The targeted approach of laser resurfacing means there are fewer problems with hypopigmentation, or a lightening of skin, for procedures such as laser acne scar removal. We are proud to offer the most up-to-date laser procedures and technology for our patients.
This procedure is used for wrinkles, acne scars, keratosis, skin texture and/or pigment problems. The intra-epidermal laser peel precisely ablates the outermost layers of the skin, allowing regeneration of new skin cells. A laser micropeel is a partial to full-thickness epidermal peel (20 to 30 microns), which ablates deep into the epidermis. The procedure may be repeated two to four times, spaced six to eight weeks apart. For additional information about all of the laser procedures we offer, please see our laser skin resurfacing page
Park Cities Peel
This combination treatment typically occurs in two steps, and includes laser micropeel followed by photojuvenation or IPL two weeks later. This procedure is an excellent way to brighten and even out skin discoloration and eliminate fine lines, while decreasing pore size. This is a more aggressive treatment, which includes a recovery time of three to five days following the micropeel portion and then little or no recovery time following the photorejuvenation portion. Please visit our chemical peels and our laser skin resurfacing pages for information regarding additional services for skin rejuvenation.
