Restylane® Lyft

Introduction to Restylane® Lyft

What Is Restylane® Lyft?

Restylane® Lyft (formerly Perlane) is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler from Galderma, offered at the Dermatology Office of Dr. Ellen Turner in Dallas and Irving. Hyaluronic acid is a substance your skin makes naturally to stay hydrated and full — and those levels drop as we age, so skin begins to lose volume and form folds.

Restylane® Lyft replaces that lost volume with a clear, gel-like filler — lifting the cheeks, softening deep folds, and refreshing the backs of the hands, all without surgery.

Its firmer gel makes it especially good at adding lift and structure where you need it most. Dr. Turner uses Restylane® Lyft to restore midface volume, smooth nasolabial folds, and create a refreshed, natural-looking result tailored to your face.

Restylane® Lyft is the first and only HA filler FDA-approved to restore volume to the back of the hands, in addition to the cheeks, midface, and smile lines. It is indicated for patients over the age of 21.

Step 1 — Consultation at Our Dallas or Irving Office

Dr. Turner reviews your goals and full medical history

A detailed facial assessment confirms whether Restylane® Lyft is right for your concern and maps a customized approach

Treatment expectations, risks, and aftercare are fully discussed

Photographs of the treatment area are taken for your records

Step 2 — Preparation

The treatment area is thoroughly cleansed

A topical numbing cream may be applied for added comfort (Restylane® Lyft also contains lidocaine)

Dr. Turner maps the precise injection points based on your facial anatomy and goals

Step 3 — Injection

The filler is carefully placed using a fine needle or a blunt-tip cannula

The full appointment is typically completed in under one hour

Results are visible almost immediately as the added volume restores contours and smooths lines

Step 4 — Aftercare

Use cold compresses to reduce any temporary swelling

Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen (NSAIDs), St. John’s Wort, and high-dose Vitamin E for one week, as these can increase bruising

Minimize strenuous exercise and avoid excessive heat, sun, or UV lamps for the first 24 hours

Do not press or massage the treated area unless instructed by Dr. Turner

Follow all aftercare instructions and schedule any recommended follow-up

The most common side effects are temporary reactions at the injection site, such as redness, swelling, pain, bruising, and tenderness. These typically resolve on their own. Dr. Turner will review all risks with you before any treatment begins.

Patient Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the treatment hurt?

Most people feel only minor discomfort. Restylane® Lyft contains lidocaine to numb the area as it is injected, and a topical numbing cream can be applied beforehand for added comfort.

When will I see results?

Results are visible almost immediately. The full, settled look usually appears within about two weeks as any mild swelling fades.

How long do results last?

Results have been shown to last up to 12 months in the cheeks, and up to about 6 months in smile lines and the hands. Duration varies from person to person based on metabolism, age, and lifestyle.

Is there any downtime?

Very little. You may have mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site for a few days, but most patients return to their normal activities right away.

Can it be reversed?

Yes. Because Restylane® Lyft is hyaluronic acid-based, it can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if needed. This reversibility is one of the key advantages of HA fillers.

How is it different from BOTOX®?

Restylane® Lyft adds volume beneath the skin to lift and smooth. BOTOX® Cosmetic temporarily relaxes the muscles that cause expression lines like frown lines and crow’s feet. Dr. Turner often combines both treatments for a balanced result.

Who is a good candidate?

Most healthy adults over 21 who want to restore cheek volume, soften deep smile lines, or refresh the backs of the hands are good candidates. Dr. Turner will confirm suitability during your consultation.

How much does Restylane® Lyft cost in Dallas?

The cost of Restylane® Lyft varies for each patient because it depends on how many syringes are needed and which areas are being treated – cheeks, smile lines, back of the hands, or chin. Since every treatment plan is customized to your goals and facial anatomy, there is no single fixed price. Dr. Turner reviews your personalized plan and provides your exact cost during your consultation at our Dallas or Irving office.
