Can you believe it? Today is the first day of school!
It feels a little unbelievable when we’re still experiencing triple-digit temperatures and it definitely still feels like summer outside. As everyone gets back into school, work, sports, and their regular routines, I want to remind you that summer sun protection doesn’t end when school starts.
Don’t Forget Your SPF!

Even though the school year has begun, our Texas sun is still very much with us.
I recommend wearing a physical-block SPF every day and remembering to reapply if you’re going to be outdoors for longer than two hours. This is especially important for kids and teens who are outside for recess, athletics, marching band, walking between activities, or simply enjoying the last days of summer.
And don’t forget about hydration!
When temperatures are this high, hydration is critical to helping avoid overheating. Aim for a minimum of 6–8 glasses of 8 ounces of water each day, and drink even more if you are working or playing outdoors.
Stock Up & Save on SPF
If you need to replenish your sunscreen supply, now is a great time!
Through the end of August, the Dermatology Office is offering:
Stock up while supplies last — because with this heat, you can never have too much sunscreen!
A Little Something Extra for Your Skin
We’re also excited to offer our Ultherapy PRIME Special:
Purchase an Ultherapy PRIME Face or Neck treatment and receive a SkinMedica® TNS Advanced+ Serum on us!
It’s a great opportunity to invest in your skin while taking advantage of this special offer.
Parents, Don’t Ignore Teen Acne

And as your teenagers head back to school, I want to remind parents of something important:
Acne is not “just a skin condition.”
Acne is a medical diagnosis, and it can have a real impact on confidence and quality of life — especially during the teenage years.
If your teen is struggling with acne, you don’t have to simply wait for them to “grow out of it.” It can be treated.
As your friendly dermatologist, I’m here to help develop an individualized treatment plan to get your teen on the road to a clearer, healthier complexion.
Back to School, Back to Your Skin Routine
So whether you need sunscreen, want to take advantage of our Ultherapy PRIME special, or your teen needs help getting their acne under control, schedule an appointment with the Dermatology Office.
I can’t wait to see you at the office!
Stay cool, stay hydrated, and don’t forget your SPF!
Warmly,
